Scientific paper presented at the 1st International Conference on European Energy Markets, held at ISEL in May 2025.
The paper presents a system that functions as an “energy bank”, enabling energy captured by photovoltaic panels during the day to be stored and used during the night. This solution paves the way for municipalities to become (virtually) independent of the electricity grid.
Hybrid solar photovoltaic (PV) systems combined with battery energy storage systems (BESS) can shift daytime solar generation to meet night-time demand.
