As part of the research and development process of new products and solutions in the lighting area, the Bright Science LAB has an expertise in technical analysis and testing of LED luminaires.
With ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation from the Portuguese Accreditation Institute for photometric and colorimetric tests, it is a pioneer lab in Portugal in performing tests according to CIE S 025-SP1, the worldwide standard.

Photometric tests are used to measure luminous flux, color temperature, color rendering index and power consumption, among others. All of these are critical data for the design and planning of lighting products, as well as a basic requirement for evaluation of specifications, required in public tenders for street lighting, to confer the lighting classes established in the EN 13201-2 standard.
During testing, environmental conditions are monitored in strict compliance with the high-quality standards required by the standards and ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation.
Photometric files are supplied in IES (.ies) or EULUMDAT (.ldt) format for simulations in lighting calculation programs such as LITESTAR 4D, Relux, Dialux.
