Our focus is to research and develop new technologies, based on street lighting and smart cities. We want to explore new features for the “plain street lamp”, like devices that capture information and interact with the surrounding environment. Some of these solutions can already be seen “in action”, as is the case with ECCOS – the luminous flow control and management systems for street lighting.
The street lighting market is undergoing a major transformation. If during the last 100 years the technological evolution has only occurred through the exchange of light bulbs (incandescent bulbs, mercury vapor, high pressure sodium vapor, etc.), nowadays we are witnessing a true technological conversion with the adoption of LED technology, opening a whole host of possibilities.
Energy efficiency gains are increased with flux regulation, automated profiles and remote management. The development of the Internet of Things (IoT), ubiquitous communications and the rise of Smart Cities, widens the range of opportunities for new solutions. Luminaires become points of interaction between city and citizens.
